Pisa Cathedral
About
Were it not for the Pisa Cathedral, the world-famous Square of Miracles would not exist either. Some may think that miracles indeed do not happen, but all it takes is one visit to Pisa to change their mind forever. A pinch of Moorish and refined Romanesque styles mixed in the cathedral's architecture, presenting a masterpiece to the world, built in honor of the Assumption of the Holy Mary.
Surprisingly, the interior decoration of the Cathedral has distinctly Byzantine influences, which are especially noticeable in the mosaics. The entrance to the building is preceded by massive bronze doors adorned with numerous biblical scenes and engravings. The "Temple of the Soul and Art," as tourists affectionately call it, continually gathers its parishioners for mass, filling the area with the deep sounds of the organ.
