La Fontana è collocata in Piazza del Duomo ed è quindi una sorta di introduzione all’incanto che si para dinnanzi agli occhi del visitatore. Conosciuta anche come Piazza dei Miracoli per i monumenti che formano il centro della vita religiosa cittadina (detti miracoli da D’Annunzio), è annoverata tra i Patrimoni dell’Umanità dell’Unesco dal 1987 grazie alla presenza della Cattedrale, del Battistero, del Campo Santi e del celebre campanile pendente.
