About

Romantics call it Piazza dei Miracoli, but the locals have dubbed it the Square of Miracles. Perhaps truly astonishing things do happen here, especially when the sun reaches its zenith and the moon hovers over the heads of tourists. The Square of Miracles serves as the epicenter of medieval architecture and architectural art.

The Cathedral, The Baptistry, the ancient Camposanto Cemetery, and the Bell Tower stand still, waiting for the right moment to come alive and shine throughout Pisa. It's this very architectural enclave that gave birth to a completely new style, known as the Pisan Romanesque. It's no wonder that every nave and each column have been under the protection of the renowned organization UNESCO since 1987.
