About

It is said that the Apostle Peter himself came to these lands and laid the first stone of the future church. Whether to believe it or not is a personal matter, but even today, people from all over the world flock here to venerate the holy site.

The Basilica of Saint Peter consists of three naves and two apses set opposite each other. The outer cladding is made of varicolored stone and contains pilasters with "blind" arches, which are complemented by neat Islamic plates. The bells are located inside the basilica, perfectly fitting into the Gothic interior. The walls hardly have any free space - the entire area is adorned with ancient frescoes on religious themes. Amazingly, the frescoes have been perfectly preserved, detailing the deeds of the apostles and the history of past years to tourists.
