About

The Church of Saint Nicholas was one of the first to appear in Brussels. It is located near the main building of the stock exchange in the old town, which is quite symbolic since its construction was entirely financed by the city's wealthy merchants.

Saint Nicholas has long been considered the patron saint of trade, and therefore the church dedicated to him never lacked gifts and offerings from the wealthy residents. After numerous fires, destructions, and wars, the church almost completely lost its original appearance. Today, the Church of Saint Nicholas is not operational but remains a favorite spot for tourists and visitors to the city.
