About

Grand Place, like a true echo of the seventeenth century, is rightly included in the UNESCO heritage list. When all of Brussels fell under the fiery volleys of the French legion, the square somehow supernaturally remained intact, preserving the majesty of its architecture.

The first thing that catches your eye when looking at Grand Place is the town hall building with its gilded windows and astounding luxury that literally bursts outward through the baroque-style facade. Worth special attention is the King's House, which in reality has long ceased to serve as a storeroom for food supplies. However, the square's worldwide fame indeed comes from the magical flower carpet, which is created annually by the hands of florists using various types of begonias.
