About

The King's House, situated in Grand Place, has long broken all records in the category of "Most varied styles and purposes." Originally, it served as a bakery, then as a prison, it was a place where taxes were collected, and even French troops resided here. With each change of "owners," the appearance of the royal house transformed as well.

The building, in its modern form, features a typical Gothic facade, based on sixteenth-century designs. Today, the King's House hosts a city museum with a rich collection of Belgian art objects from various eras. Additionally, the museum is home to a vast collection of costumes for the "Manneken Pis" sculpture, which is continuously expanded by high-ranking and famous visitors to the Belgian capital.
