About

The Atomium was never intended to become another popular tourist attraction in Brussels, rivaling the fame of the "Manneken Pis". The futuristic sculpture was supposed to be dismantled after the exhibition ended, but people, who had fallen in love with this two-ton metal marvel, wouldn't allow it.

The height of the Atomium reaches an impressive 102 meters, and the structure consists of nine spheres, six of which are accessible to tourists. For convenience, there are two elevators designed to transport visitors to the top in just 25 seconds. The Atomium also houses an educational center that offers group lessons on atomic structure, features an observation deck, and even boasts its own restaurant.
