About

The Basilica of the Sacred Heart is rightfully considered one of the symbols of Brussels, embodying the independence of all of Belgium. Furthermore, the Sacré-Cœur is also the fifth largest Christian church and the largest building in the world made in the unique Art Deco style.

According to some sources, the construction of the basilica lasted more than 60 years, and during this time, the original forms of the walls, belfries, and even domes changed dozens of times. The building's height reaches 90 meters, with the length of the main hall exceeding its height by almost twice. The modern Sacré-Cœur can accommodate more than 2000 people and serves not only as an active cathedral but also as a museum, as well as an exhibition and concert venue.
