About
The Statue of Liberty, reaching a height of 42 meters, was built with funds from public donations. Perhaps that's why its value for the ordinary citizens has increased significantly, making the monument an even more vivid expression of the country's independence.
At the base of the monument are thirteen figures, embodying significant milestones in the history of Latvia. The inscription carved into granite and concrete, "For Fatherland and Freedom!", reaffirms the patriotic spirit of the people, who reject foreign tyranny. On the stone foundation sits a 9-meter statue of a woman, extending her hands with three stars, which are covered in gold leaf. You can find the Statue of Liberty in the Old Town, near the city canal and Bastion Hill.
