About

The corner house, known to every resident of Riga, is located at the intersection of Brivibas and Stabu streets. Its popularity is no coincidence - at one time, the apartments in the building were occupied by the Latvian State Security Committee, or simply the KGB.

When the Soviet Union came to an end, and the KGB disappeared as an outdated and myth-enshrouded entity, the State Police moved into the building. The building underwent reconstruction and even stood vacant for quite a long period, casting an indefinable fear over the townspeople, remaining from the Soviet era. In front of the house, you can see a large memorial plaque that was installed here back in 2003.
