About

The "Laima" clock received its unusual name from a confectionery factory, whose sweets were once in huge demand and popularity among Riga's residents. Previously, a tall column with a clock was used as a stand where political slogans and announcements were hung, but time put everything in its place.

Today, every resident of the capital knows the "Laima" clock. Here, romantic dates and meetings are set, many tours start from this spot, and every self-respecting tourist is sure to take several photos against the backdrop of the most accurate clock in Latvia. Interestingly, the "Laima" clock was built with the most pragmatic purpose imaginable. By constructing Riga's chronometer, the city authorities wanted to eliminate the constant tardiness of its citizens to work.

Красивые часы, которым уже 101 год. Говорят, что внутри их самый точный Швейцарский механизм.
