About

Dedicated to Saint Martin, the church of San Frediano has over the years changed its name and undergone several reconstructions. The building has absorbed all the features of medieval architecture, reflecting them in every centimeter of its masonry. The "blind" arches and the protruding diamond-shaped figures of the temple are complemented by bicolor stones, while the facade itself is adorned with a large arched window.

Inside, San Frediano church has a nave and two aisles with marble columns and capitals. Surprisingly, it is almost impossible to find a single bare wall in the church's interior - all are draped with artworks and covered with frescoes. Of special note is a cross on a gilded panel, depicting the Passion of Christ and the Crucifixion.
