About

Once upon a time, the walls of Galileo Galilei's house first heard the great phrase "And yet it moves!". Before that, of course, there were sleepless nights under the bronze lamp and observations of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, which had been falling since the first day of its existence. And yet, the outcome was worth it, if one discounts the persecution by the Inquisition.

Locating the building where the brilliant scientist lived and made his discoveries is quite simple. One only needs to stroll down Borgo Stretto and turn onto the Merchants' street. Just past the miniature Caffe Settimelle, a plaque marking Galileo Galilei's house has been proudly displayed for many years. The building is done in the traditional Romanesque style, and tourists often take photos against its backdrop, dreaming of new, even greater discoveries.
