About

This museum emerged relatively recently, in 2013 to be exact. The boldly styled building is located on the site of a former Jewish ghetto, and its design was authored by a Finnish firm that won the construction tender in 2007.

In the context of historical architecture, the building's design seems, at the very least, odd and somewhat unconventional. A significant portion is dedicated to light wells, adorned with graphic images, and the use of copper plates inscribed with signs in Hebrew and Latin.

The main exhibition of the museum is situated in the lower part of the building, covering an area of about 4,000 square meters, where the centuries-old history of the Jews is told with the help of modern technology.

The purpose behind the construction of this building was to commemorate a horrifying historical period, rather than to showcase new architectural technologies. This is something to remember…

Вообще интересно посмотреть, почитать об истории польских евреев. Но на сколько я помню, аудио гидов на русском языке не было, а без знаний польского или английского языков будет скучно.

Trzeba zarezerwować dużo czasu, najlepiej cały dzień, ponieważ ta opowieść wciąga.

Warto zobaczyć. Zarezerwować trzeba sobie min. 2,5h. Świetnie ukazana historia Żydów na tle państwa polskiego.
