About

This place was first mentioned in documents from the 13th century. In olden times, it was a site for grand executions and merry fair festivities, but now the square has become a favorite spot for street musicians, artists, vendors, and an organ grinder with a parrot. Time has flown, but the amusements remain the same, except that no one is executed anymore. Since 1855, a siren, acting as the protector and patron of the capital, keenly observes the square. Her statue, the vigilant guardian of the townspeople's peace, has become a popular backdrop for photographs. For those tired of the hustle and bustle, a variety of cafes on the square always await.
