About

The bronze giant and symbol of Warsaw, "grown" from the ground in honor of King Sigismund III, now proudly stands on Castle Square. The knight's armor and two obligatory relics in his hands - a saber and a cross. From a bird's eye view at 22 meters, the figure, who ruled with a firm hand for 44 years, proudly looks down. The base of the monument is adorned on all sides with plaques featuring the coat of arms and laudatory inscriptions from the king's son to his father. During the war, the Nazis destroyed the monument, but it was restored in 1949. The remaining fragments and pieces of the column still rest near the Royal Castle.

Podczas pobytu w stolicy jeszcze mi się nie zdarzyło ominąć Starego Miasta, a zwłaszcza Kolumny oraz Zamku Królewskiego. Monumentalne miejsce
