About

Since the last monarch of Poland, Stanislaw August Poniatowski, took his rest here in 1818, the Łazienki Palace has welcomed a diverse crowd. Nestled on the shore of a man-made bath, it continues to carefully preserve its historical past within its depths, enveloped in the silence of the park and the mirror-like surface of the water. Visitors are drawn to the Solomon's Hall - a classic ballroom with a gallery where about 2,500 works are displayed for public viewing. The Bacchus Hall is also popular, named so for a reason: it once hosted popular "Thursdays" attended by politicians and cultural figures. And standing proudly over the Vistula riverbank is a replica of the Chopin monument (the original was barbarically destroyed by the Nazis). Surrounding it, open-air summer concerts are often held.
