About

The undisputed symbol of the Polish capital is the Royal Castle, located right in the heart of the Old Town on the eastern part of Castle Square. It was built at the end of the 1500s, beginning of the 1600s in the Baroque style, but a subsequent reconstruction in the 18th century completely changed its stylistic design to neoclassicism. Between the two world wars, the castle hosted the Polish leadership. However, the building was greatly damaged during World War II. Its new history began only at the end of the 1980s. It was at this time that the castle was fully restored based on old photographs and drawings from that era!

The building has a classic rectangular shape. Among its numerous halls, three stand out in particular: the Marble Hall, the Throne Hall, and the Knight's Hall, which is adorned with valuable canvases from the royal family collection!
