About

The horrors of the bloody war touched everyone. Children were no exception - they fought on equal terms with adults, contributing as much as they could in the fight against the Nazi regime. The prototype for the child sculpture was one of the messengers, a little son of a local nurse. He, along with his comrades, was killed during the suppression of the uprising. His tiny figure is dressed in oversized boots and a helmet, with a huge machine gun frozen in his hands. Constantly covered with flowers, this miniature monument has served as a reminder of those terrible days since 1983. Like a shield, a plaque with the inscription of the children-rebels' anthem stands behind it, calling to give all one's strength and every last drop of blood for the homeland, Poland, and Warsaw.

Schönes und zugleich berührendes Denkmal, dass an die Kinder im Widerstand erinnert.
