About
The territory of nearly 33 hectares and 200,000 burial mounds is the Jewish Cemetery in Warsaw. Enclosed from the world by a brick wall, this place is divided into special sections: for children, soldiers, ghetto victims, and followers of Judaism. Majestic mausoleums, the low-hanging branches of trees, and stone-carved angel figures remind us of the transience of all "existence." Since 1806, the necropolis has survived wars, decay, and constant reconstructions. Funds for the preservation of the cemetery have come from conscientious citizens, large Jewish communities, and kind-hearted individuals who wanted to prevent the destruction of this special place.

Historia o której powinniśmy pamiętać

Warto wybrać się na spacer z przewodnikiem. My byliśmy w marcu 2024 r. Nasza Pani Przewodniczka trzy godziny nas oprowadzała opowiadając o historii cmentarza, żydowskich zwyczajach, wzajemnych animozjach i losach "mieszkańców".
