Orthodox Cathedral of Our Lady in Budapest
About
Situated in the heart of Budapest, just a few meters from the Danube, the Hungarian Orthodox Cathedral of Our Lady stands as a testament to neoclassical elegance. Designed by Miklós Ybl and opened in 1791, this architectural gem has captivated visitors for centuries. Despite losing one tower during WWII, the cathedral now proudly displays its restored twin towers, echoing the resilience of its history. Inside, guests are treated to a stunning display of fabulous mosaics that complement the building's serene atmosphere. Though currently adorned in scaffolding, this beloved attraction still shines with a remarkable average rating of 4.7 on Google.
