Iglesia 10/10

Muy bonita por dentro y por fuera

The church was originally founded in the 7th century by Saint Magnus, Bishop of Oderzo, following a vision of Christian saints. It was consecrated in 1177 by Pope Alexander III to commemorate the reconciliation between the Republic of Venice and Emperor Frederick Barbarossa. A major reconstruction began in 1506 under the design of Giorgio Spavento, and was later completed by Tullio Lombardo and Jacopo Sansovino. The Baroque façade, added in 1663, was designed by Giuseppe Sardi. The church features a blend of Late Renaissance and Baroque architectural styles. Its main altar houses Titian’s masterpiece The Transfiguration.
