The St. Mary of the Friars basilica is considered one of the most significant Venetian churches, impressing with its size. Built in the Italian Gothic style, the church was erected in the 13th century. From the outside, the building is unremarkable, but the interior of the cathedral astonishes with its magnificence. It houses true masterpieces of art, such as Titian's altarpiece "The Assumption of the Virgin." By the way, the great master is buried right here. Equally awe-inspiring is Bellini's triptych "Madonna and Child with Saints."
