About

Palazzo Grassi is an impressive palace located on the banks of the Grand Canal, built in the academic classical style according to the design of Giorgio Massari. Thanks to him, the palazzo was adorned with baroque style details. At the same time, its facade, made of white marble, surprises with its rigor and simplicity, distinguishing it among other Venetian palaces. The interior of the palazzo is decorated with frescoes by Francesco Zanchi, Michelangelo Morlaiter. Whereas once the palace was the venue for grand receptions, today it houses an art gallery, as well as an open-air theater designed for 600 spectators. Palazzo Grassi is unique for its glass roof, through which you can see the Venetian sky.
