About

Within the Venier dei Leoni Palace, there is a museum housing the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. It is part of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. The Venier dei Leoni Palace is a single-story building, its facade made of Istrian stone and facing the Grand Canal. The mansion's foundation is adorned with masks in the shape of lion heads. Each wing of the building has 8 windows. At the center, there is a terrace, which ends in a railing and an exit in the back, offering a wonderful view of the canal. The museum itself is small, but visiting it provides great pleasure, especially for fans of modern art. The exhibition features over 300 items. The museum collection includes works by representatives of surrealism, cubism, and abstractionism, such as Picasso, Kandinsky, Chagall, Pollock.

Beautiful sculpture garden, good collection of the modern canon of art. And one impressive bacon chimpanzee. A great place to get over the midday heat and relax watching the impressive wooden river taxis passing by. Reasonably priced as well.
