About

The Church of Saint Augustine, erected by the hands of hermits in the distant 13th century and crowned with a 55-meter-high bell tower, is dedicated to the apostle and evangelist John. The style of the building was typical of that era and was known as Romanesque-Gothic, evident in the church's architecture with its rich portal featuring half-columns and a bas-relief with hand-molded details. The austere facade of stone and brick conceals within its walls unique decorations with carved furniture, plaster statues, and frescoes, some of which are 700 years old. The Church of Saint Augustine is considered the oldest in Rimini, attracting countless tourists from around the world who dream of touching the immortal beauty of the past.
