About

The Old Town in Krakow is quite a large area that has preserved amazingly beautiful buildings, shrouded in the mysteries of history. Here, there is a unique atmosphere of narrow streets and distinctive architecture of ancient buildings. Some of the palaces, temples, and sanctuaries built in those distant times when Krakow was the capital of the Polish state have survived to the present day. One can endlessly stroll here, enjoying the beauty of the buildings and the various and quite fascinating myths and legends about them. The main tourist route of the Old Town is the Royal Road, which runs right through it from Matejki Square to Wawel Castle. Since the late seventies of the last century, this part of the city has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and since the end of the last century, it has been declared a historical monument of Poland.
