About

Despite the fact that Krakow is mostly known for its magnificent churches, it also has a wealth of museums on its territory, among which the Polish Aviation Museum is a must-visit, being one of the largest and most interesting for visitors. Created in the middle of the last century, this museum narrates the history of aviation technology's creation and development, and its exhibits showcase practically everything from gliders to World War II airplanes. As of today, this vast museum has several halls, with the main exhibition located on the airfield and in the hangars. The first hall highlights the role of women in Polish aviation, and a separate hangar presents airplanes from World War I. There are about 150 exhibits in total, some of which are unique, as they are the only ones of their kind in the world.

Being a fan of aviation, I really wanted to visit the Museum so I'm really happy I got to do it during our little trip to Kraków! It's such a huuuuuuge museum with an immense airplanes and helicopters on display in hangars and outside, I couldn't believe my eyes at how much planes there were! (seemed endless!!) The tickets are really low for such a good quality museum and such a long visit! (it took us 2h/2h30 as we walk fast) however the lady at the ticket office was not really polite.. nor the one at the museum's shop (responded briefly and in a dry way when asked if she spoke english...). I really enjoyed my visit, I translated for my mother who doesn't speak English so she could appreciate it as much as I did. We also loved the exhibitions, very informative and interesting. I wish we had a guided visit as I saw on panels that to get inside 2 really big airplanes we had to be on a guided tour for that.. (was really sad we couldn't get in like we did on the helicopter on the scheduled time).

Warto odwiedzić to miejsce.

Superb. Au multe modele de avioane. Noi suntem pasionați asa ca muzeul ne-a plăcut tare. Marți e gratis. Mare parte din muzeul e afara, in aer liber. Nu stiu daca este "must do" in Cracovia, dar e cu siguranță dragut.
