На Софійській площі розташована дзвіниця Софійського собору і пам'ятник Богдану Хмельницькому. Щороку на Софіївській площі встановлюють вертеп - традиційний ляльковий театр і святкують Різдво. А на Новий рік площа стає центром народних гулянь і виступів фольклорних ансамблів. небольшая уютная площадь недалеко от Крещатика и Золотых Ворот. Богдан Хмельницкий на фоне колокольни Софийского собора смотрится эффектно. Отсюда лучше всего продолжить путь к Михайловскому собору.
