Monument to Bohdan Khmelnytsky in Kyiv
About
The monument to Bohdan Khmelnytsky is a quite popular attraction in Kyiv, erected in honor of one of the most famous Ukrainian hetmans. The unveiling of the sculpture took place on July 23, 1888. The monument is located in Sophia Square. The history of its creation and development is rather interesting. Initially, the sculpture was intended to include more elements, but due to political reasons, it was decided to limit it only to the figure of the hetman and his horse. Everyone who has seen the monument at least once notes the accurate and detailed elaboration of all its elements.
