In 2011, the organizers of the Kiev Fashion Park project acquired the sculpture "Classical Grandmother" at an auction and installed it on one of the benches in T. Shevchenko Park. The main reason for this action was to improve the park area and to lift the spirits of the citizens. However, it ended up generating a lot of buzz, and the residents of Kiev did not just appreciate the appearance of such a monument, but also put their own efforts into its arrangement. Gradually, this sculpture, like many others in Kiev, gained the status of being magical. During the exam period, one can see many students from Shevchenko University gathered around the grandmother, hoping to pass their exams successfully. There are also rumors that spending some time sitting with the sculpture can bring good luck for the rest of the day.

Скульптура действительно классическая. Сидит себе престарелая женщина на лавочке и, то ли за внуками следит, то ли кого высматривает или даже «шпионит». Она стала любимицей студентов университета им. Шевченко. Считается, если посидишь рядом с нею совсем немного, то удача тебе обеспечена. Может и не стоит ее специально разыскивать и приезжать, но и сегодня, глядя на фотографии, сделанные с «бабушкой» на сердце у меня становится теплее.
