About

Taras Shevchenko Boulevard is situated between Bessarabska Square and Victory Square. It is one of the most beautiful and vibrant streets in the capital. It was established in 1834 and has changed its name three times since then. Initially, it was known as Boulevard Street, then as Highway or University Boulevard, and a little later - as Bibikovsky Boulevard. It was not until 1919 that the boulevard was named after the Ukrainian poet. The boulevard is home to many architectural objects of historical and architectural value. There are two universities and an academy located here, along with former mansions and gymnasiums, whose architecture garners genuine interest from tourists.
