About

The Dresden Albertinum Museum got its name in honor of the first person who commissioned the reconstruction of the building, King Albert of Saxony. Today, the museum serves as a repository for paintings by masters of the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as sculptural works from five epochs. Visitors can view creations from antiquity, the early Middle Ages, the Renaissance period, Expressionism, and contemporary art.

One part of the monumental works belongs to the Dresden State Art Collections. The most valuable exhibit is the "Dresden Boy", and vases and various bronze items from ancient masters are also of great historical significance.

The gallery houses masterpieces by renowned artists such as: Van Gogh, E. Manet, E. Degas, E. Nolde, E. Barlach, C.D. Friedrich, C. Monet, L. Richter, M. Liebermann, O. Kokoschka, and P. Klee.
