2025 Parks

Pillnitz Castle, designed by M. Pöppelmann in the 18th century, was originally the residence of Elector Augustus I, who later earned the nickname 'the Strong'. Initially, it consisted of the Upper and the Water Palaces. A century later, the New Palace was built, serving as a connecting link between the two original architectural compositions.

The magnificent park, spanning 29 hectares and located on the banks of the Elbe River, serves as a splendid frame for Pillnitz Castle. Its grounds are home to flowers from several continents - Australia, Africa, and Asia.

As for the castle's exhibition, tourists are presented with exquisite examples of folk art and crafts. Also, the antique textiles, musical instruments, and furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries are likely to impress many.

Für mich ist Schloss Pillnitz eines der schönsten Schlossanlagen überhaupt. Besonders der Blick vom Elbufer aus ist ein echter Blickfang.
