About

The Belváros district is located on the left bank of the Danube, between the Liberty and Széchenyi bridges. The name of the district, which is also the historical center of Pest, translates as "Inner City".

Belváros encompasses the entire cultural and social life of the capital. This is where the majority of hotels, restaurants, and tour agencies in Budapest are found. Also, running through the district like a thin ribbon of the river, is the city's main shopping street - Váci. Here, festivals, celebrations, and holidays take place, during which time the Belváros district transforms into a sparkling "city within a city".
