About

The Liberty Bridge, spanning the Danube River, reaches a length of 333 meters. Its width is 20 meters, accommodating two busy traffic flows.

The Liberty Bridge is considered the oldest in the capital since, unlike its "brethren," it was rebuilt and reconstructed based on the previous metal spans. Its four mast tops are crowned with figures of mythical turul birds. The bridge often hosts folk festivals and holidays, during which traffic is completely blocked. Ships pass under the massive "ribbon" of the Liberty Bridge, with passengers making wishes as they sail past the ancient metal structures.
