The Votive Church, a Roman Catholic church, was founded in 1856. Its location was not chosen by chance. It is here that an assassination attempt on Emperor Franz Joseph I took place three years before the foundation of the church. It was only by great fortune that the ruler remained unharmed and unscathed. In gratitude for this, the emperor's brother encouraged people to build the church. The height of the building is just shy of 100 meters. The construction itself was quite lengthy, ending only 23 years after the laying of the first stone. However, the result was worth the money, time, and effort spent on its construction.
