Karlskirche is an ancient church, built in the Viennese Baroque style in 1737. It is located on Karlsplatz square and stands 72 meters tall. The architecture of the church is quite unusual and syncretic, blending features from different epochs and styles: an antique portico and columns, two Baroque-style pavilions, and a large dome modeled after St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, which can be accessed by an elevator. The icons and frescoes inside the building, crafted by many artists, speak of the four virtues: courage, prudence, justice, and temperance. The main altar is adorned with an image of Saint Charles Borromeo being carried to heaven by angels.

I can't speak to the church itself as a Christian institution, but it was a beautiful setting to see Vivaldi's Four Seasons in concert. The staff was polite, kind and helpful and we were maximally satisfied with the whole experience.
