About

The Secession Building is one of the most significant monuments of Austrian modernism, constructed in 1897-1898. The structure is supported by massive eight-meter columns, which extend down to an underground stream. The building is adorned with images of owls and Gorgon heads, symbolizing victory and wisdom. The Secession is a gallery that hosts 10-15 exhibitions of contemporary art each year. By visiting, you will surely discover new genres and directions, and without a doubt, enjoy the works of modern painters, sculptors, and other artists.

Art Noveau at it's finest. Klimt's spirit lives on through this building; exterior as well as interior.
