About

The Church of Saint Peter is one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in Vienna. Its construction began by order of Leopold I and took 30 years to complete, with its opening occurring in 1733. The church's designer drew inspiration from the idea of Saint Peter's Basilica, built in Rome. The building is constructed in the Baroque style, with the main altar also designed in this style. At the entrance, there is a triumphant arch adorned with the coat of arms of Leopold I. The Church of Saint Peter features a bright emerald dome, decorated inside with stunning frescoes. The walls of the church are adorned with images and symbols of the Holy Trinity, and the lavish details of the interior are enhanced by a magnificent organ.
