This beautifully architected cathedral, richly embellished on the inside, was built on the site of a parish church that has been here since the beginning of the 12th century!

Over the years, the cathedral, designed as a three-nave basilica, has experienced a slight blend of styles: beginning in the Late Romanesque style and completed in the Gothic style!

The south tower stands about 137 meters tall and is equipped with an observation deck, which can be reached after ascending 343 steps. From there, one can enjoy picturesque views of Vienna and its surroundings.

The cathedral's interiors still preserve features of Gothic architecture from that era: ancient stained glass windows and sculptures have been preserved, and a true masterpiece is the wooden carved pulpit!
