About

The Museum of the History of Medicine is dedicated to the famous oncologist and surgeon Pavel Stradyn, who collected medical exhibits throughout his life. This museum is considered one of the largest in the world, given the fact that its collection is constantly being updated.

Interestingly, it took no more and no less than four years from the founding of the museum until it was opened to the public. The residents of Riga claim that the exhibits allow one to trace every twist and turn of the historical past of modern medicine with all its mistakes, victories, and discoveries. Of course, the vast majority of the items in the collection are related to surgery and oncology, which were Stradyn's main fields of work. Today, the museum often hosts exhibitions and cultural events.
