About

In the heart of the Old Town lies Theater Square, with its main landmark being the Opera House, whose construction lasted 7 years. Upon completion, it was named after its architect. The center of the square is adorned with a monument to Johann, known for his translation of the "Divine Comedy," authored by Dante Alighieri. A short distance from Theater Square is the famous "Zwinger" ensemble with its well-known fountain, "The Bathing of the Nymphs," created at the intersection of sculpture and nature.

Of particular interest are the clocks with bells made of Saxon porcelain that play music every 15 minutes. The Dresden Gallery, housing an extensive collection of paintings, is also located here. Besides, there is the Neo-Renaissance style Castle-Residence, alongside a terrace known as the "Balcony of Europe."
