Underneath the castle of Buda, known throughout Budapest, lies the "Hospital in the Rock" museum, whose premises extend far underground. The museum's exhibition realistically and in detail shows the daily life of the hospital during World War II.

In the "hospital," it seems everything has remained as it was over half a century ago. Frozen wax figures of nurses apply bandages, wounded patients tremble in pain, and doctors with stone-faced expressions perform yet another operation. The museum is divided into two parts - the first describes life on the side of Germany, and the second on the side of the USSR. Photography is prohibited inside, and one tour takes about an hour.

Really interesting tour! Full of wax models that re-enact what this hospital was like during WW11 and the Cold War. Very in depth guided tour. It gets cold so bring a jacket!
