About

The House of Terror, located on Andrassy Avenue, occupies the building of the former State Security Office. Finding this place among the streets and alleys of Budapest is easy - just look for the building's awning with the large inscription "TERROR".

Once a perfectly safe residential house, everything changed after the fascists arrived. The light gray building turned red, and in memory of the tortured victims, it was decided to frame it in black, symbolizing the country's totalitarian tragedy. The house operates a museum of the same name, which includes letters, papers, secret documents, and even torturing tools used by the Nazis.
