Mountain of Arts in Brussels
About
Located between the Palace of Justice and the parliament, not far from the Royal Residence, there is a small hill, which locals have grandiosely named "the mountain". Here, behind the massive facades of geometric shapes, lies one of the largest Belgian libraries and congress spaces.
A steep staircase leads to the very top of the Mountain of Arts, and those who make the climb can treat themselves to sweets, which are sold in stalls right on the observation deck. The hill has also become a home for the museum of musical instruments, which is neighbored by numerous other exhibition halls. On a clear day, from the hill, one can see the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and the Atomium.
