About

Moving northwest from the Main Square, you'll inevitably stumble upon the Ezelpoort gates at the end of the main street, crowned with pointed towers and spires. The gates are surrounded by water, and the path to them lies across a tiled bridge.

The route through the "stone boundary" is now open only to pedestrians and cyclists. Previously, the gates were known as the Ostend, as they led directly to the city of Ostend. Despite numerous restorations, Ezelpoort has not lost its original beauty and grandeur, remaining an impervious barrier against time.
