About

The unique French Fry Museum occupies two floors of the medieval, yet well-preserved Saaihalle building. The museum boasts a collection of themed exhibits, totaling 400 items ranging from vases with potato sprouts to modern deep fryers.

The first floor is entirely dedicated to the history of the world's most popular root vegetable, starting in Peru and Chile and later in Belgium. The second floor is much more "appetizing" - here, visitors will learn the secrets of making this popular dish and discover the sauces that best complement it. The tour traditionally ends in the gothic semi-basement space, where each guest can taste Belgian fries with a choice of sauces.

The museum is super cool, and contains much information about the history of potatoes, the discovery and the usage through centuries and countries. The whole tour and explanation is possible through audio guide given at the entrance, included in the normal ticket. For kids, the museum has many fun activities such as quizzes, games ecc ecc. There’s also a downstairs cafe, which makes fries and has a variety of delicious sauces!
