About

The Vilnius Castles are a complex of several buildings located on the left bank of the Vilnia River: a noble stone retaining the spirit and atmosphere of centuries past.

The former residence of Lithuanian princes is now open to the general public: anyone wishing to visit can do so by walking a considerable distance on foot from the center of Vilnius.

Throughout the city's history, the position and condition of these buildings have changed countless times - the first mentions of the existence of the castle complex date back to the beginning of the 14th century. Alas, the castles have reached our time in a semi-ruined state - the crusades took their toll.

However, to the joy of everyone, after lengthy reconstruction works, Lithuania has rightfully snatched these monuments of great history from the jaws of death.

Beautiful hill with nice views of Vilnius from above. Use your feet its a nice easy hike, don't take the cable car.
